Pursuant to the Proclamation No. 1098 declaring the month of October of every year as Consumer Welfare Month, the DTI-ARMM headed by the Regional Secretary Atty. Anwar A. Malang will join the nationwide celebration of this year’s Consumer Welfare Month through ARMM Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan, at Konsyumer Summit on October 9-11, 2018 at Shariff Kabunsuan Culutural Complex, ORG Compound, Cotabato City in partnership with CPAB, PCAB, BSP-Cotabato, Metrobank, DOLE-ARMM, POEA-ARMM, PCA-ARMM, OWWA-ARMM, DAF-ARMM, PhilFIDA, PBSP, British Council, JICA, PFA, ACDI-VOCA, and RE Franchising.


The activity is part of the realization of the agency’s slogan, PESO-PRIDE or People Empowerment through Social Enterprise – Poverty Reduction through Industry Development and Entrepreneurship as well as part of the department’s legacy and support for the new government in the autonomous region to help the affected employees in planning for their financial and business strategies.

With the assistance of implementing partners, it aims to undertake series of forum and seminars, Diskwento Caravan, and Jobs Fair to be partaken by approximately 400 participants composed ARMM employees, entrepreneurs, industry clusters, job seekers, students and consumers from the region and nearby areas.  

The BSP will set up a booth in the lobby of SKCC for exchange of coins and unfit bills while RE Franchising will exhibit a sample of 3 in 1 cart for food franchising and will give an exclusive 50% off of the original price (60,000Php) of the cart for the interested franchisee.

Through this effort, the culture of entrepreneurship will be promoted among the participants, employment and livelihood opportunities will be created, consumers will be educated, business sectors will be encouraged to comply on the prescribed laws and policies, and industry clusters will gain more information.
